Just a quick sneak peak from our Bridals
this week, or I guess they call them Groomals
if you include the groom and we did.
When my oldest daughter got married, some
kind and wise friend suggested that we
include the groom for the pictures,
just in case something bad happened
that could ruin the pictures
on the wedding day - weather or something....
Little did she know that 8 days before
the wedding he would get his whole face
smashed in from a boating/tubing accident
and have to have plates put in his face,
so needless to say, we are great fans
of including the groom.
I created the bouquet for the bridals
on how to wire brooches and how to secure
them with special floral glue (I used
the glue and floral holder he recommends
for fresh flowers - I will do a tutorial
when things slow down here!)
You just have
to love the internet for all of the wonderful
information you can find. The brooches
can be found for practically nothing
at Fabulous Brooch. (Most of them were
$3-$6!)
One other fun thing I found on Pinterest
was a picture of the groom blindfolded
so that seeing the dress for the first
time was captured.
We did that and
to see the look on his face was priceless!
Well, that is the only tidbit for now!
What fun to be the Mother of the Bride.
Since June is wedding month,
I will be sharing this on
(And since my last two posts were on
anniversaries and celebrations - just
thought I would mention that I just
flew past my 3rd Blog-a-versary!
Wow, how did that happen?)
Just a quick PS
I just found out today that my daughter's
niece (on her husband's side) is to
be married June 15 and her fiance was
just hit by a car walking across the street
and is in the hospital with his back broken.
They don't know what they are going
to do at this time!
I had just written that you don't know
what might happen and here it is within
the extended family!!
I hear so many stories of grooms breaking their nose or getting hit in a ball game - your idea of including him just makes very good sense! That dress looks like it must be stunning!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 3rd blogging anniversary.
ReplyDeleteMy oh my....what beauty you have posted here today. I can't wait to the photos of the wedding..
Great idea to include the groom...after all...this event does include both of them. I think this is a super smart thing to do and later in years, those photos will be a true treasure.
As always Jacqueline....it is gorgeous around your place.
Blessings,
shug

ReplyDeleteIt's been just about 11 years since I've been a mother of the bride for the second daughter and the wedding was a fun day.
Wishing a sunny day with blue skies for the wedding Jacqueline - it's a wonder you have time to post.
Happy 3rd anniversary for your blog too - time flies.

What a dazzling bouquet!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous bouquet, and I would expect those brooches to cost a lot more. I like the idea of a blindfolded groom, too. Hope your SIL is fully healed from that accident. xo

Gorgeous! Can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteI'll be praying for this young couple.
Holy cow! Hit by a car??!?!? How awful! I hope the groom makes a full and speedy recovery. The poor dears must be besides themselves! I'm just glad that he survived it!
ReplyDeleteYou guys were very wise to include the groom. As a wedding consultant, I always encouraged this for 2 reasons, 1 being the one you gave. The other is because it gives the groom and opportunity to see his bride in her for the 1st time TWICE: once in private where they can share that intimate moment without hundreds of gazing eyes upon them, and once with friends and family all present. It really makes it twice as nice...literally!
The bouquet you created is beautiful! I love all the neat brooches!!! Bling is my thing, sister girl!!! :-) Speaking of bling...LOVE all the bling on the bride's wrist!!! Very different, and very hip!
Enjoy yourself, Ms. Mother-of-the-Bride, and I hope both young grooms are on the mend so they can get started pain-free with their new lives!
KC has a blue and white wedding. The brooches would have been a neat appointment to the bouquet. Including the groom really is a great idea. I hope that you many who was hit by the car recovers quickly! Cherry Kay'
ReplyDeleteYou don't forget a thing, Jacqueline! You sure know how to take any event to the next level:) Gorgeous. Happy 34th wedding anniversary, and 3rd blog anniversary!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, love the pictures and can't wait for more.
ReplyDeleteJust found you through the Tablecaper. How beautiful your daughters bouquet is. I have never seen one so lovely. How tragic to have your SIL injured so badly, I hope he has recovered well.
ReplyDeleteI think these photo session are such a wonderful idea. You do never know what's going to happen in terms of weather or accidents (yikes)! I hope both young men are doing okay!!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing more pics as the wedding approaches.
Congrats on your 3rd blogging year too!
As a big fan of anything shiny or sparkly....I LOVE the bouquet! Fabulous.
