Peonies in Blossom

What a glorious time of year with all kinds of blossoms in
my garden.

The peonies are beautiful this year. These are more of those
blossoms that just don't last long enough.

I think one of the prettiest color combinations is
one found in nature's flowers - pink and green.

I brought together some of my botanical bowls and plates for
this outdoor table celebrating Mother Nature's bounty of flowers.

Aren't these fun?  I found these last year at Tuesday Morning.
The elongated leaf plate has a small pink strawberry at the end.

I also found the little pink cabbage bowls there on a
separate trip.

These are especially striking viewed from the side.

I wanted to showcase my peonies, but accented them with a variegated
hosta and some ivy.

Soft green tones are everywhere on the table.

The peonies take on a casual look with an embossed tin bucket.

Casual plaid napkins are paired with pink satin napkins and
tucked into the green bubble goblets.

Everything creates a fresh look for a summer day.

Just another little touch of ivy to ring the bottom of the stemware.

I just love hostas and these are my favorites.

The textured pale green plates are a perfect simple backdrop
for the other dishes.

How I love to spend time in my back yard.

Get outside and enjoy eating alfresco.

I will be joining these parties

  4. Your peonies are gorgeous, and look wonderful with the green and pink dishes! Since the peony season is so short, I picked a bunch of peonies while they were in the soft "marshmallow" stage, and am storing them in the refrigerator for a few weeks until I want them to bloom. You can Google that, and it really works.

  5. Hi Jacquelin
I love the colour of your peonies, mine are all darker pinks but I see a purchase coming up. The table is so pretty with the pinks and shades of green, it really says summer.

If our Tuesday Morning had offered some of these, they would be in my cupboards too. Love to dine alfresco and you've certainly offered the perfect setting. ~ Sarah

  15. You just hit on several of my favorite things all in one post. I love pink, and a very favorite combo to me is that exact shade of pink with those shades of green. The peony has to be one of God's greatest masterpieces. It always looks like two flowers in one to me. And the plaid linens in the glasses just finish the whole thing. Love this one. I'm pinning it for inspiration.

  18. What a beautiful collection of accessories to go with the peonies. There is nothing here not to like. I was thinking you live in Florida, but that must not be right if you have peonies growing. I can't wait for mine to bloom....they are close.

  30. Beautiful table and colors. I am very jealous as the high desert isn't a good area for peonies, so it was great to enjoy the ones from your yard. Your table matches would be so soothing to sit at.
