White and winter white make for a lovely table
reminding one of the icy conditions outside
yet with sparkling effects that illuminate the
gorgeous qualities of new fallen snow.
This is my first tablescape shot all at night. I love the
dark beauty of the night outside the kitchen view window
that sets a stunning backdrop for the sparkling table.
These beautiful bon bon cloches are a new purchase
this year. I have been eyeing them for some time.
I can picture lots of tablescapes featuring these lovlies.
Just perfect to capture a snowflake and keep it.
Everything catches the light and sparkles just like
fresh snow.
Department 56's Ice Palace was the inspiration
for this table.
(It actually had a place on a small table. When
my daughter walked in and saw it she said, "I
guess we will just have to stay away for the month!"
Grandma Jackie quickly moved it up higher. We
couldn't have that happen!)
The Ice Palace is surrounded by frosty iced trees.
"Snow" covers the silvery linens.
This chandelier gets a few icy ornaments too.
This snow crystal has melted into a perfect tear drop.
Looking down from the iced chandelier we see the top
of the Ice Palace.
Icy ornaments are scattered around the table.
Two sizes of textured square plates are perfect
as they catch the sparkling evening lights.
As penguins skate around the palace, the dome
changes colors.
I love the sparkle of the lights out the window when
the chandelier is turned off.
May the joy of this sparkling season bring you
PEACE
and
"Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me."
Although not on the table, I had to mention this
lovely angel as her coloring matches the table.
She adorned the top of our Christmas tree all of
my years growing up. I thought she was the most
beautiful thing I had ever seen. I remember once
squabbling over who would inherit her. When it
actually came time, after the deaths of both of my
parents, she seemed small and unimportant and no
one claimed her. She actually was placed in the box
for Goodwill.
I remembered how much I had loved her and
although she didn't seem as beautiful to me then, I
couldn't see her go that way, so I plucked her out of
the box and brought her home.
Now, with more mature eyes, I treasure her above
all the glitter and glamour. She is again one of the
most beautiful things I bring out at Christmas time.
The little lovely only stands about 8 inches tall,
but she fills me with love and memories of a
warm and loving home.
