A Day at Hogsmead Tablescape - Harry Potter - The Deathly Hallows Part 1 Opens in Theaters

By Thursday of next week, people all over the world will have

been to the opening of the latest Harry Potter movies

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1

You are invited to come with me as we join Harry Potter,

Ron and Hermione at Hogwarts a School for

Wizards.

Enter through the imposing gates on a wonderful

journey of imagination.

Today is that wonderful day when all students get to leave the

school and travel into town for a little fun and food.

Enter the quaint little village of Hogsmeade.

It is quite a wonder to behold.

The sun is just rising above the roof tops.  It is a beautiful sunny

day for a trip to Hogsmeade, but the roofs are still snow covered.

How wonderful to be able to take a break from the worries

of school for one day,

and explore the town and its wondrous shops.

Like any youngster, we head straight to Honeydukes

to see the wonders of candy of every variety.

Can the eye even take everything in?

This is every child's dream.

We are happy we headed here first before all the

other students line up outside.

It gets crazy later in the day.

You end up waiting in line to get in the store if you don't

head to Honeydukes first.  All of the older students know this.

Oh, pumpkin juice.  Maybe later.

Ahh, this looks like a good way to start the day, a chocolate

cauldron.

That's our pick.  A chocolate cauldron, a chocolaty cake

dipped in chocolate, topped with three kinds of chocolate

and a chocolate handle.  Maybe we will have to go back

and get another one later.  We snack on it as we wander

to other shops.

Next we are off to Ollivander's Wand Shop.

One of our wand's got broken and we need to purchase a new one.

You do not choose the wand,

with the help of funny old Ollivander, the wand chooses you.

Enough work for one day, we are headed off

to The Three Broomsticks.

(You will notice The Three Broomsticks - hence the name!)

The only place in town to get a really good meal.

WOW, this place is fantastic!  The scale and architecture are

only rivaled by Hogwart's Castle.

Maybe we will just hang out in front of the fireplace and

chat with our chums.

Most meals served with a side of salad, corn on the cob,

and potatoes.

( No trip to Hogsmead should be without a

Butterbeer or Pumpkin Juice.)

Frozen Butterbeer (slushy type drink)

Pumpkin Juice

Take your robes off and rest your brooms.

Let the servers at the Three Broomsticks take care of

your hunger.

and your thirst.

We tried both kinds of Butterbeer (which of course is

non-alcoholic but with a big foam) and Pumpkin Juice.

I have to vote for the frozen Butterbeer.

I think I will have the Shepherd's Pie with a mug of

Frozen Butterbeer.

amazing and the food at The Three Broomsticks

was a delight.

In keeping with Red Couch Recipes Thankfulness Challenge,

today I want to mention my gratitude for books.  When

my youngest was in 1st grade he came home and said,

"Kevin so and so thinks he is all that!  He says he has

read Harry Potter and I know he hasn't."  Well, that

started that son wanting to be a reader, so we sat down

and I would read a paragraph and he would read a

paragraph and because of Kevin so and so, he learned

to love to read.  I love the adventure that books are

and I am grateful for those who write good, clean

books that can be enjoyed by all.
